This AB-4 battery charger from the well-known German brand ABSAAR is a processor-controlled 4-step battery charger suitable for 6V and 12V lead-acid batteries, Gel, AGM and maintenance-free batteries from 5 to about 80Ah and for maintenance charging up to about 120Ah.

The ABSAAR AB-4 is easy and intuitive to use thanks to its clearly readable display. The selection of the right voltage is automatic and you then use the mode button to choose small batteries up to 14Ah (engine icon) or larger batteries (car icon) and the charging process is then automatic.

The battery can remain continuously connected to the battery charger. This is ideal for batteries that remain unused for long periods, such as motorhomes, motorbikes, lawnmowers and boats.

Automatic battery voltage detection

Battery voltage selection (6V or 12V) is done automatically by the charger. If the voltage of a 12V battery is low (between 7V and 10V), the charger may initially indicate 6V and start the charging process. After some time of charging, the charger will see that it is a 12V battery and will then automatically switch to the 12V setting.

Charging process indication

The LCD display shows the charging process. This gives you an indication of how full the battery is during the charging process.

Security

The ABSAAR AB-4 is protected against overcharging, short circuits, swapped plus and minus poles (reversal of polarity) and protected against battery problems due to possible charging errors.

Winter mode

In cold conditions (5 degrees or colder), the charger can be set to winter mode (the snowflake on the charger). This will charge and maintain the battery in cold conditions at a slightly higher voltage, keeping the battery full and maintained better.

The charging capability of the ABSAAR AB-4 gives a charging capacity of up to 4A for both 6V and 12V batteries.
